Finger Weeder
Our Finger Weeder is used for in-row weeding when the weeds are quite small and the crop is well established.
The Finger Weeder is a mechanical cultivation tool designed to remove in-row weeds without damaging the crop. Using soft, flexible rubber “fingers” mounted on rotating wheels, this tool disturbs the soil between plants in the row, reaching areas that other cultivators can’t touch.
Ideal for use once crops are well-rooted, usually at the 2–6 leaf stage, the Finger Weeder aggressively removes small weeds before they become established, especially those missed by earlier passes. It’s most effective on young, shallow-rooted weeds in dry or slightly moist soil. The tool’s flexible fingers penetrate the top layer of soil and lightly scrub around the crop base, dislodging weeds while preserving the crop.
The Finger Weeder reduces reliance on hand labour and herbicides, and promotes healthier, more competitive crops. It is frequently used in combination with tools like basket weeders, which manage between-row weeds earlier in the season.
