Vacuum Seeder
These Stanhay Vacuum Seeders can precisely plant individual seeds. These seeds can be as small as lettuce seeds and as large as chickpeas.
A Vacuum Seeder brings precision and consistency to the planting process by using air suction to singulate and space seeds with incredible accuracy. Designed for both large-scale farms and diversified vegetable growers, vacuum seeders drastically reduce seeding errors, eliminating doubles and misses, while maximizing crop uniformity and reducing the need for thinning.
These Stanhay Seeders that we have adapted to fit on our tractor use a rotating seed disc with small holes that pass over a vacuum chamber. We drive the seeding gears with a motor and our own motor controllers to quickly and easily adjust the seed spacing on our computer regardless of what speed we drive. This eliminates the need of changing any gear ratios like one would need to do with traditional seeders. Air suction pulls seeds into each hole, holding them in place until the disc rotates past the release point. The result is accurate seed spacing, consistent planting depth, and even emergence across the field. Adjustable discs allow it to handle a variety of seed sizes and crop types, from delicate greens to larger seeds like corn or chickpeas.
When paired with a well-prepared seedbed, the Vacuum Seeder excels in both speed and precision. It’s especially valuable for crops where population density and row spacing directly affect yield.
